Kemp Mission Statement
The Kemp Independent School District believes in meeting the individual needs of its students. Each level of the program accepts each student at the learning level at which the students are found and allows him/her to develop to his/her fullest potential at his/her own rate under proper guidance and motivation. The mission of the Texas State Board of Education Senate Bill 21, Chapter 4, Sec. 4.001 reads, "to ensure that all Texas children have access to a quality education that enables them to achieve their potential and fully participate now and in the future social, economic, and educational opportunities of our state and nation." Thus, Kemp ISD has put into effect and is using a program which recognizes, evaluates, and provides educational enrichment for gifted and talented students of all races, socioeconomic groups, geographic locales and environments of the district's area.
The first GT Testing date is for students new to Kemp and it is set for the week of October 22nd, 2007. The second date will be determined in the spring and will include teacher and parent referrals.
